[There it is. The wall he constructed isn't the strongest thing, but it is a few moments, and that is ample time for himself to move, out of the way of the swing, and as he feels it break, his staff thrusts forward to sweep at the legs.]
[While the wall breaks, the wave of lightning hits, sparking over his entire body for a shocking moment, jolting with it as he turns to look up at Hunter. He moves the sword to swing at Hunter while using the momentum to flip himself over the bo sweep.]
[Its all a fluid motion as he sees the figure flip up, a slight shift to his grip as he sticks the end of the Bo staff against the ground, allow the change in momentum, an extra bit of oomph as he shoves up with the staff to drive the opposite end into the warrior.]
The blue ninpo that wrapped itself around Hunter previously flares out, a thicker layer and the blade bounces off harmlessly.
The champion's focus is on the turtle, and as Donnie's bo strikes, that same blue forms an extra hand at the base of the staff, shoving it a little extra hard for more oomph and drives the staff into the champion's side. He lets out a guttural growl at the situation. Backs up a few feet to regroup for the moment.]
Hunter glances down at where the blade glanced off of him; he touches that blue light, dimly awed by it. Protection. That’s good. Okay. Maybe this won’t be so bad.
As Donnie swings at the sword arm, Hunter slaps a plant glyph onto the ground and sends vines to help try and pin that arm in place. ]
[The extra strength behind Donnie's attack knocks the sword out all right, especially with the vines keeping the arm steady and unmoving. The champion's head turns to follow the sword, then looks at Donnie again before it
blips
out of sight and to the sword still in the air a good twenty feet away.]
[That's fine, or maybe it won't be depending on execution, because the follow up been forming as soon as he saw the connection of the attack, purple sparking along the staff that shot off as the warrior leaves the vines.]
[Because separation wasn't going to happen. What he needed was to control where and when the blip happened.]
[There's a blip, but the return to existence comes with a capsule having launched out of his staff right for the sword. A device with some inspiration from Draxum's seeds as metal wires shoot out to wrap around the sword and hopefully around the warrior himself. With intention to keep the sword weighed down and not effective as a weapon with metal wrapped around it and attached to the warrior to keep blip porting from happening.]
[He wouldn't be sad if the metal tentacles had wrapped around more of the warriors body, but keeping a sword from being a sword and having him more limited to the full portals over blipping made him easier to track.]
[As soon as he blips to the sword, gets it in hand, there are metal wires wrapping around both the sword and his hand down his forearm keeping them wrapped together. But even he can't do anything about how more of the wires wrap around his torso. He looks briefly surprised by the action, then turns to look at Donnie. While his face is hidden, the frustration is clearly felt across the field.
He looks briefly around the area, seeing the debris and leftovers from the lair scattered about and plants one foot down to kick up a small knife into his hand, watching as it forms into a different katana. Ready to go, he tosses it behind Hunter, blipping himself there to take a swing.]
Hunter’s head snaps up as the figure appears behind him. A blink puts him behind the figure in turn; he aims a sharp staff strike to the small of the figure’s back. ]
—- Donnie! Do you think this is Leo? Should we be fighting him?
[ Like, he’s cool and all, but this doesn’t seem nearly as dangerous as Hunter had expected. ]
[Well, that's just more frustration on his end too when he sees the butter knife.]
There is a way to confirm, but you move faster than me, Hunter! [And at the very least, making it harder to move is to their advantage, whatever the case. Leo is offering protection, but that didn't mean they should make it harder for him by being sitting ducks.]
[....hm.]
[He needs to know who this is and either way, lessened movement didn't hurt them.]
[He turned to the warrior, staff thrusting out to smack into his arm with the free moving sword.]
[He moves his arm along with the thrust, using the motion's momentum again to twist and strike at Donnie's side. It's a simple motion, but a keen eye can probably see the outline of the face under the hood - a hint of dark mottled green under there.]
[Unfortunately green doesn't tell him much when he expects corruption, he needs to see the face clearly-]
[Don't get hit, don't get hit-]
[It's a mantra he keeps in mind, he knows any strong hit has a tendency to knock him down longer than he ever wants in a fight, feels the staff is starting to over extend, and he pulls it back and in close to his body to block the blow.]
[While the hit does land, it doesn't land as hard as it probably should. The ice hitting his back is a shock to the system, slowing him down as it starts freezing down his legs and to the ground.
He lets out a growl of a noise as he's a little stuck, looking between them. Trying to decide which one to focus on.]
[But the target isn't moving, and that's a solid opportunity to thrust the staff forward, not to really hit as much push and maybe tear that hood off.]
Re: 2nd - BATTLE NEXUS NYC
As a piece of broken sword flies by, between Donnie and Hunter's heads narrowly missing.]
Re: 2nd - BATTLE NEXUS NYC
Shredder did this whole bit thing, basically, pretty sure that's Leo and pretty sure he's gonna be feral!
[Oh shit, sword fly be.]
Hunter, port away!
[He's grabbing his staff and throwing up a wall behind them.]
Re: 2nd - BATTLE NEXUS NYC
[ He was already going for the staff! He blinks upward, reappearing about ten feet above Donnie’s head and now straddling the staff. ]
