Waffles, pancakes... [Peter sighs in turn, his mind still spinning on breakfast until Leo brings up their old hobbies.]

I'm surprised you haven't taught the kids skateboarding yet. [A gentle tease in turn.]

[He groans, burying his face in Peter's shoulder at the thought.] Waffles...

[Sighs, fully relaxing on him now.] Yeah, you want more injuries for the med bay to deal with?

One day, we'll have a big breakfast. [He muses, his hands drifting across Leo's shell.]

Not really, but, it would make the kids less cooped up. [Living in the base underground isn't great for any of them. The kids especially are quiet and nervous.]

[It's been very bad for all of them. Sure the turtles grew up this way, but they got to go topside every now and then for an evening.]

I know. I just - I don't wanna give anyone a reason to get hurt.

[Peter sighs lightly, not at Leo. Just at the situation. At the unfairness of it all. It's something minor in the grand scheme of things, but its just another addition to the pile.

Peter nuzzles into Leo, just trying to grasp at the levity where he can without losing the reality of the situation either.] I understand, it's...

Maybe one day, we'll get that option. Right now, not so much.

Yeah. One day.

[It's difficult, finding those silver linings. Even if they manage to drive off the Kraang, get their world and homes back... it's all destroyed. The landscape is forever changed, it'll take decades of hard work just to get the ecosystem back to sustainable.]

In the meantime, I'm happy to lay like this with you for as long as we can.

[Peter releases a soft content sound.] Lets just lay here a little longer.

[He doesn't want to get up. Even if they probably should get dressed and head back sooner rather than later.] It's just me and you right now.

[Peter just wants the moment to last. His fingertips find gentle purchase against the back of Leo's neck, drawing small lazy circles there as they lay together.

His ninpo reaches out for Leo's again, a gentle caress. Nothing intense behind it, not like before.

Just a wordless need to be close.]
