[The knock is answered fairly quickly. Peter opens the door managing a brief attempt at a smile at his sort of boyfriend. A bit of warmth is there when he sees Leo, but the other teenager looks wrung out. The heavily red eyes speak of the fact Peter has been crying for a while.
His voice is a little hoarse when he speaks.]
Hunter is probably asleep, so we should just go to my room. [He opens the door all the way to let Leo inside.]
[Boyfriend or not, whatever they are currently, Leo just knows he cares about Peter. And that face does not bode well. He just nods and steps in so the door can be closed and starts making a bee-line to Peter's room.]
What happened? [He's at least keeping his voice down. For once.]
There is a lady at that flophouse who can tell the future. [Peter repeats.] I dunno how exactly it works, but- I definitely remember things now that I didn't before.
[Peter moves to sit down on his own bed, just laying back.]
Well. Uh.
[He wraps his arms around himself nervously, trying to comfort himself.] Its better if I stay here after all of this is end of the world stuff is over.
[Leo watches him, concern clearly etched on his face. But those words... His muscles go lax before they tighten again, every nerve on fire and he can't really figure out why except that this is wrong.]
[Peter opens and closes his mouth, tears springing to the surface again. He presses the butt of his palm against one of his eyes. His emotions are everywhere and Peter can't quite get them under control.
He loses his words for a moment, so he nods back at Leo, trying to show he agrees with the idea.]
Leo watches Peter for about five seconds before he gets up and reaches to pat his arm. Shoulder. Something, some kind of contact to let Peter know he's here.]
[Peter nods a little, taking Leo at his word and just opening his arms for a hug, sniffling a little as he tries to give Leo the space to step into the hug.
He almost wants to apologize for being an unfun boyfriend, but can't quite get the words out. Maybe later. Right now, he just feels actively wrung out.
[Unfun or not, Leo would do this. Someone he cares about, upset? About the future where he's apparently DEAD? No, Leo signed up for this just being Peter's friend. Nevermind the ...relationship status god he has got to figure this out quick.
He gets there, wraps both arms around Peter and just settles in to hug him close for now.]
[Peter breathes out a shaky wet exhale, just curling his arms around Leo. His hands settled against the turtle's shell.
He presses his face against the turtle's shoulder, just drawing comfort from the touch. Peter closes his eyes tightly, just trying to keep himself from crying again.
He's done enough crying to last him a long while. His crying won't change anything.]
[Yeah, Peter seems like he needs this. And if what he said is true, then who's Leo to judge that? He's been there, the so sure he was going to die but he lucked out having family bailing him out at the last second.
it didn't really sound like Peter had anyone to do that for him. He tightens his grip holding Peter, determined more now that yeah. Yeah, he and Don are gonna take him to their version of New York after all this.]
[Peter just focuses on getting his breathing evened out. A tear or two does escape against his will, rolling down his cheek and hitting Leo in the process. Peter mumbles a quiet embarrassed apology.
He draws back slightly, just looking up at Leo. He still has a loose hold on his sort of boyfriend, reluctant to let go yet.
He hesitates, not wanting to burden Leo with all of- this.
He speaks, his voice is quiet and tired.]
I think, the worst part is, I trusted someone and he killed me. He tricked me to get something and...
[He blows out a short breath, brows knitting together.]
[Leo keeps holding him. Holding the people he cares about is a specialty, Hamato specialty even. It doesn't bother him a bit, tears are great. Essential sometimes. So when Peter starts talking again, Leo doesn't make any kind of comment about it.]
Hey, everyone makes mistakes. You didn't know. He made that decision to do that, and that's not on you. All right?
I should have known. He just... showed up out of nowhere in a costume and acted like a hero. [He groans a little at himself, embarrassment and shame sharp enough on his features.] I handed him something dangerous, without even thinking about it enough.
[Leo takes a slow inhale and squeezes Peter a little tighter for a second before letting go.]
Like I said. We've all made mistakes. [The tone of his voice though says it's something Leo's intimately, personally familiar with. That kind of misjudgement.] You know now. And... Like I said, we'll get you to our New York and you can live there.
[Peter nods a little slowly, wiping at his eyes again with a thin but appreciative smile.
The tone of voice Leo has is telling in a way. It makes the brunette wonder just what happened to Leo to know this kind of feeling. He wishes the mutant didn't have to deal with this kind of thing either.]
I, I appreciate it. A lot.
[He exhales softly, managing a very thin smile.]
I'm just trying to adjust, I guess. To knowing, and dealing with it from here.

[It doesn't take long, Leo's gotten the route down by know. He does at least knock.]

Well. You- can ask someone about the future here. [He isn't sure how else to phrase it.] My future isn't super great. I probably shouldn't have asked.
