You'd think they'd want us to be at full strength to like... stop all of this. [Peter answers with a scrunch of his nose.] Right now it feels like we're just waiting for something to happen to react to it.
[He's aware they are still pretty new here, but Peter can't help but feel agitated at feeling useless at all of this.]
It feels so- dumb? Everyone here probably can do so much cool stuff, but they just... can't? [Peter has learned plans are a necessity, but it doesn't negate the fact he's still a teenager.] Like right now, we're just hoping to notice weird stuff.
[LEO IS JUST! So annoyed. A combination of playing the waiting game, being taken from home while they're still repairing all the damage, and now he can't portal himself anywhere. May as well cut off one of his arms while ADI's at it.]
[Peter debates with himself a little. How does he even explain half of this? His powers sound weird without a lot of context.] Normally, I can- stick to walls, any flat surfaces. I could also pick up- like buses, cars, super strength essentially.
I got mutated by a spider biting me, so. It changed a lot.
[Just tapping his chin now as they turn the corner. ADI's close by within sight.]
Maybe you got the first one then... Hm. Yeah, in our New York, a warrior alchemist made this mutagen ooze that oozequitos would inject in people and mutate them.
We apparently have the weirdest versions of New York. [He's half tempted to ask a few questions when he hears the very distinct sound of hooves against pavement.
That is definitely a skeletal horse emerging from the alley the two are starting to pass.]
Oh my god- [Peter does not want horse, he takes an awkward step back. He holds the pizza box awkwardly, half afraid of it being knocked out of his grasp. ] We have pizza, Mr. or Ms. Horse can we- just go?
[Sure, its a skeletal horse, but it's staring. It is so staring.]
...Are you two competing via the horse? [He has to ask, actively baffled. The horse is ignoring him. This is his life.
The horse re-focuses its attention on Leo primarily.]
First think of the person who lives in disguise, Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies, Next tell me whats always the last thing to mend, The middle of middle and end of the end? Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?
[Peter blinks a little, before looking back at the skeletal horse.
The horse seems pleased. It stomps a hoof, shaking out its hair. It brays with laughter. The sound makes Peter's skin crawl. Anxiety is creeping along his spine as he grips at the pizza box.] Yes, good!
Okay, I think that's-
[Surprise, the horse is not done!]
Armored but not a knight, snapping but not a twig, and always at home, even on the move. What am I?
Leo, I'm not a riddle person, at least not this kind of riddle!? If it was math or science related, I'd get it. [He practically hisses at the other teenager.
The horse is just staring at him. That is just amplifying his anxiety by tenfold. Peter does not like any of this. It taps its hooves impatiently against the pavement.]
Answer.
[Peter manages to keep the pizza box balanced against his chest, finding his web shooter with a clumsy gesture. He flicks out a web cartridge from the chamber. He's done the gesture one handed before, so he at least can accomplish that.
The glass is steady under his fingertips. That much solidifies what he's doing as he follows through the motion, muscle memory kicking in.
He throws the cartridge down onto the ground at the horse's hooves. The undead manifestation startles but its hooves are stuck to the ground. It practically shrieks in anger as Peter grabs onto Leo's arm yanking him forward to start running.]
I mean- yeah, its- part of the spider thing. [He tries to not glance back at the horse as they run. It is definitely mad from the sounds of it. Hopefully ducking into the ADI is safe enough territory to avoid being trampled.]
[Running is so important and valuable, he is trying to focus on that.
But spider thing??? WHAT SPIDER THING??]
We'll talk details later, more running now!
[Now that he's got his feet under him, he can scoot on ahead, faster than Peter can see. It's not even a superpower, it's just him, stopping every five or six feet ahead of Peter to make sure he's still following.]
no subject
[He's clearly been thinking about it a lot with the frustration in his tone. But he walks alongside Peter, hands in his hoodie pocket.]
I'd be able to help a lot faster if I could use my powers.
no subject
[He's aware they are still pretty new here, but Peter can't help but feel agitated at feeling useless at all of this.]
no subject
[IT'S FRUSTRATING!! He wants to help fix it and go home, not be stuck here waiting.]
no subject
[He blows out a breath, shaking his head.]
no subject
...What cool stuff can you do? Normally.
no subject
I got mutated by a spider biting me, so. It changed a lot.
no subject
But that explanation gets him thinking.]
Huh. So spiders instead of oozesquitos...
no subject
As far as I know there was only one spider, I think so anyway. I kinda went into a lab where I wasn't supposed to be.
no subject
Maybe you got the first one then... Hm. Yeah, in our New York, a warrior alchemist made this mutagen ooze that oozequitos would inject in people and mutate them.

That is definitely a skeletal horse emerging from the alley the two are starting to pass.]
It's time to play a game.
no subject
The sound of hooves.
Normally he'd be annoyed at being stopped.... Buuuuuut-]
Oh, perfect. [He sounds actually pleased by this.]
no subject
[Sure, its a skeletal horse, but it's staring. It is so staring.]
no subject
[He'll step in front of Peter though. Protect the pizza.]

[Listening............. hm.]
Unwilling to kiss... Gimme a sec, I just need to sort it out.
no subject
What is a gross animal? One that is full of secrets?
no subject
In disguise... thing to mend...
[Snaps his fingers.]
A spider.

You got this, you can do it.

Pass!
no subject
But then a lot happens at once and Leo catalogs it before he's tugged along. Running with!!]
WHAT WAS THAT?
no subject
Peter has no idea how long that will last though, since this is a weird undead abomination horse.]
I make webfluid its fine! It's totally fine!
no subject
[Just RUNNING with and not looking back, who knows how long that stuff will last, it is a weird undead abomination horse.]
Oh we are so taking you back to our New York.
no subject
Sure, I guess! A visit would be cool!
no subject
