[Peter wraps his arms around Leo, just leaning into him as the kiss lasts.

Their faces don't perfectly align, but with enough adjustment mid-kiss they manage it.

He breaks away after a moment, very pink in the cheeks again, but smiling a very dopey kind of smile.]

[Oh that smile and face are perfect. Leo smiles even more seeing it, pressing forehead to forehead like this.

He wants this to last. He's a sap, and his brothers are going to give him so much shit for this, but who cares.]

Think I'd be embarrassed if you knew how long I was trying to ask you out.

Considering a truck blew up one time when I was asking, I feel like we're pretty even. [He keeps his arms looped around Leo, just wanting to hold him close.]

[This is perfect, though. He just keeps both arms around Peter now that he can.]

[He blinks a little at the question, but doesn't hesitate to answer.] Yeah, what do you wanna do?

[Peter snorts at that.] Are you sure Hueso hasn't like told her by now? He seemed like he was kinda aware of what she was doing.

[Deadpan:] Hueso has more loyalty to me, his precious favorite turtle patron who buys more pizza than April who doesn't even like the place.

[Peter just snorts again. The look on his face is comically salty. Peter just kisses his snout a little.] Okay, okay, I'll take your word on that.

What do you wanna do, just keep texting her like we're confused?

Could. Or just wait a day or two and ask where she was. We hated eating without her, but she'd gone through the trouble of the reservation, so it would've been rude not to eat.

That works for me. [He doesn't pull many jokes on people, but this one seems fitting.] Honestly feels fair given she just set us up.

[Technically, they should thank her, but neither are dealing with that now.]

[Leo's going to thank her when it's her birthday. Until then, it's free jokes hour.]

[Although... now that he's having a few minutes, he's realizing he knows his brothers and April really well.]

Oh my god. They probably did. [He's briefly exasperated by the though, still gently pulling Leo along with him. A loose sway of a dance just to stay close.]

Where do you think they fell betting wise? I can kinda guess Donnie assumes we wouldn't figure it out.

[Oh... this is also nice? He keeps hold of Peter's hand to sway with him.]

Donnie definitely doesn't think we'd figure it out. Mikey probably on we did, for the sake of the romance. Raph.... Hard to say.

[A beat, two steps. Sighs.]

Pops definitely on Donnie's side.

Raph is a toss-up. He'd want to be hopeful, but... we've both kinda not gotten super far? [This isn't the weirdest conversation they've had by far.]

Probably? I don't know your dad as well as you guys. [Peter is friendly, but Splinter is focused on his shows for the most part.]

[Yeah, Splinter's just .... not involved.]

I'm his least favorite. He'd be thrilled to see me lose a bet.

I... how can you be anyone's least favorite? [The sentiment absolutely makes Peter confused.]

I know!

But Raph's the oldest and the leader, he says Donnie's the funny one, and Mikey's the baby so obviously.

[He sighs, resting his chin on Peter's shoulder while they sway together.]

[Peter just sways with Leo. He lays a gentle hand against his boyfriend's shell.]

I think he loves you guys equally. I mean, that's what parents are supposed to do.

[He hums at that touch. Used to only his brothers or April touching their shell.]

...He's not like.............. a typical parent, though.

[He wouldn't outright say Splinter's a bad dad. They have everything they need and then some, it's just... Splinter's a little detached from them most of the time.]

He's a bit distracted sometimes. [That is the politest way he can put it. Peter barely knows Splinter, so he feels like he can't actively judge.] I only really have May, so, parents are kind of weird to me.

We only ever had him, and Raph took care of us more.

[Ugh. UGH. How did they get to this -

[The spin does a fine job of startling a laugh out of Peter, his expression brightening again.

Peter can already tell Leo doesn't really want to talk about the topic. Even if he's curious, he's taking the not very subtle hint.]

Okay, yeah, this is what's important.

[neonleon]

[It definitely isn't a 'first date' sort of topic. That's fifth or tenth date material, at best. But he sets Peter down, keeping hands on his waist and leaning in with a smile.]

You sure about this? Because like - I know for mutants and youkai, I'm a solid eleven, but I dunno about you humans. Might be a twenty. Too powerful.

[Peter just brings their foreheads together again, hand settling loosely against the back of Leo's shell. Unaware of how that likely feels. The fact they're finally doing this, going on a date, dancing, its a lot of things Peter wanted rolled up into one really good moment.

He means to go with something cocky and full of bravado, but his voice ends up quiet and hopeful.] I really want this.
