[Oh he's definitely crying now. He feels Peter's hand to his cheek and he nearly crumbles right there on the spot. Leo moves to sit next to him.]

Yeah. Y-yeah you lost some time, but it's all right. I'm. I'm here, I'm okay. Just... really glad to see you.

[heyunderoos]

That curse lasted a really long time this time. [Peter answers blearily back, shifting to try lay on his side. He's realizing quickly enough he's not exactly dressed.] Did we have to burn my clothes again...?

[neonleon]

Um. yeah, something like that.

[He laughs brokenly, the tears just free falling now as he leans in to press his face into Peter's hair.]

You feel all right? Nothing hurting or anything?

[heyunderoos]

Sore, but, not unusual for this curse stuff? [Leo freaking out after the curse wears off isn't unusual. Peter knows it scares everyone badly.] Feel like I could nap for a zillion years.

[Peter finally blinks his eyes open, his vision starting to stabilize. He is realizing this is nowhere familiar.] Leo, where are we-?

[Leo will discover quickly enough Peter's left eye is a strange golden color, sclera of that eye turned black.]

[He sees that eye and it's... Not the best. A sign of what he did, either from the curse or Leo's own meddling. But Peter's still... He's still his husband.

Leo shifts to sit properly there, legs crossed and carefully pulls Peter into his arms to hold close.]

Long story? But. We're home. Um. Basement, but. Upstairs is- it's. What we wanted.

[heyunderoos]

[A grand improvement from Leo's first attempts. Before all he achieved were... Things, stained and twisted by black magic. Untethered between life and death. Things that cried out in anguish at their summoning. More strange viscera woven together out of Leo's determination to make something stick.

Now Peter lay in his arms, whole, beyond a few visual defects. He's breathing evenly, cleanly. He's real and steady.

Peter just blinks a little, brows knitting together as he tries to take that all in.]

Home- but... how..?[He raises a hand, fingertips stained slightly black as he presses the butt of his palm against his normal looking eye.] This feels like a conversation that involves pants. I dunno if I can walk right now.

[neonleon]

[Every motion peter makes, every half-aborted phrase or sentence, Leo soaks up just happy that he has Peter back. He buries his face in Peter's curls again to breathe him in. Calm his own nerves for a few moments.]

Yeah. It's... It's definitely a pants conversation. I've got you.

[He doesn't wait a second to lift Peter in his arms, carefully around his back and under his knees. The basement is dark and cluttered, things having been strewn around both by the spell itself, and Leo's own frustrations when the previous attempts didn't work. But he's kept the light dimmed so if Peter can see anything... it isn't much. The stairs go up to a kitchen, dimly light with a few lamps but spacious and open, exactly what they had talked about for the years they fought in the war together. The whole place is like this: open floor plans, with everything they had talked about ever wanting. They could have that now, complete with Peter's meager things he left behind carefully placed as Leo carries him upstairs another floor to his - their - bedroom and onto the bed.]

I still have clean clothes for you, just - Gimme a sec.

[heyunderoos]

[Peter curls his arms around Leo's neck, just leaning into him as the turtle carries him. He can't make out very much about the basement as they go up.

The rest of the house just leaves him actively speechless. He bites the inside of his cheek a little, trying to keep a lid on how he's feeling. He remembers whispering with Leo at night about what their home would be like. Laughing about the idea while the two were laid out in their flower field, basking in the sunshine warming their bare bodies.

Now it's real.

What did he miss? How long was he gone?

This is everything they wanted, and so much more. He stretches out on the bed, trying to just wrap his head around this.] Thank you, baby.

[neonleon]

[He watches Peter for a moment, soaking in the sight of him. Safe, unharmed, happy...

He's still crying a little, sniffs very adult-like and all before digging through the drawers for Peter's clothes. He has Peter's web slingers on a shelf close by, with what was left of his spare suit. A few photos from the repair efforts and celebratory get togethers once the last of the Krang were driven off. (Leo isn't in the photos though. He was present, but not in the photos themselves)

He comes back a minute later with a pair of sweats and a shirt.]

Here. I-i kept them for you.

[heyunderoos]

[The space is definitely lived in, and comfortable. It is everything Peter always wanted for both of them.]

Thank you. [It takes Peter a minute to actually sit up, seeming to struggle just slightly. He presses a hand against his chest, breathing a little unsteadily.]

I've been gone a long time, haven't I-?

[neonleon]

[Leo's hyperaware of Peter and his motions. He sees Peter having even minute trouble breathing and moves to kneel down in front of him, watching and ready to do whatever he needs. But the tattoos along his flesh arm are clear now, still with the faintest remains of the purple glow, starting to crawl up his neck and jaw.]

Y-yeah. A little over two years. You're all right? Any trouble?

[heyunderoos]

[The tattoos are hard for Peter to miss. His attention snaps onto the glowing tattoos as he presses a hand against the underside of his ribs.

He needs a second to adjust, to being alive, to feeling everything at once.]

Sore. Usually, I was too delirious to tell anyone how much being cursed hurt. This feels about the same.

I doubt I was cursed for two years, or I wouldn't be... me anymore.

[neonleon]

It's... It's not really a long story, just. Not a particularly great one. But you're here.

[He rests his hand over Peter's, hesitantly, gingerly. Enough that Peter can shoo him away if he wants.]

Take your time. We've got plenty of time.

[heyunderoos]

I want to hear it, all of it. [Peter smiles at Leo, just reaching out his free hand to touch his husband's cheek gently. He needs to get dressed, but Leo touching him is grounding.]

That feels... so strange to hear, I hope you know. [He jokes weakly back.] We haven't had time since we were kids.

[neonleon]

I know. I know, but it's real.

It's all over. Everyone's rebuilding. Healing. You were right. We just needed to hold out hope.

[heyunderoos]

[Peter finally lets his hand draw away, moving to try and get the clothing Leo brought him on.

It's only mildly a struggle. He manages it, breathing out a tired kind of sigh. He shifts to lay back, patting the spot next to him imploringly.]

Lay down with me. I want, I just want to hear everything. I want you to stay with me.

[neonleon]

[Leo is there to help with anything Peter needs, adjusting things a little but...

He's going to cry again, he knows he is. His husband, back, alive in one piece, and wanting him there like all the years before. Leo breaks a little again, climbing up to lay on his side against him.]

I'm here. I'm not going anywhere, I'm here.

[heyunderoos]

Just stay with me, alright? [Sure, he's got a lot of questions, but Leo looks like he's going to keep crying for a very long time. He does what he can to just wrap his arms around Leo to hold him close.] I love you, I'm right here.

[neonleon]

I love you too. I'm- God, Peter, I'm so happy. You're here.

[He clings to Peter, gathering him up in both his arms. He feels his body simply curling around Peter to keep him close.]

I tried everything. For two years, I tried everything, and now you're here, and- and it was worth it. All of it was worth it.

[heyunderoos]

[Peter exhales slowly, just closing his eyes tightly as Leo curls around him. Given that reaction... He must have died somehow. He must have died from the curse? The war ended after? Peter isn't sure.

He just presses a desperate kind of kiss against what he can reach of Leo, then another, just trying to ground both of them.]

When... when we're both a little less shocked, I want to know what happened.[He's giving both of them an out right now. Peter isn't sure what happened, he's not sure what his husband did.]

[neonleon]

[He makes a noise in his throat, somewhere between a trill and a whine.]

Yeah. A few hours or - days or something.

Whatever you need, I just. I just want you here with me.

[heyunderoos]

Tell me, good things about right now. What do I need to catch up on? [A gentle nudge for Leo to talk.]

[neonleon]

Right now?

[He lets out a shuddering breath for that. Just... Calm down. Peter's here. He's real. he isn't going anywhere. His skin and muscle won't melt off the bones before they turn to dust if Leo just closes his eyes for a second.]

Right now, it's... Fine. Krang are gone. Everyone's rebuilding, um. We, I. I got this house built after everything we talked about. [SNIFF.] Casey stays with me, he's got his own room upstairs in the attic. H-he's. Not here tonight, he's with April.

But it's... It's good. I go into town sometimes for things. Other times, the others come here for get togethers for a night or two and bring stuff with them.

[heyunderoos]

[Peter's hand finds a spot against Leo's shell, lazily rubbing circles against the surface. He reaches out with his own magic again, his web knitting with Leo's own magic. He can feel the empty space his magic used to occupy.

He presses a kiss against the underside of Leo's jaw, against his neck, his shoulder, just giving him attention.]

It sounds... so nice. Peaceful. [Beyond whatever his husband has been doing to make Peter come back from the dead.] We deserve this peace, this safety. I'm glad Casey is still with you. I know he loves you, Leo.

[neonleon]

I-it is. It really is nice. And he does.

[He lets out a noise at every kiss Peter presses against him, thankful with every fiber of his being that it worked, that Peter's here to do such a kindness. He pulls Peter closer against him and thumbs circles against his husband's scalp, through those soft curls he dreamed about for two years.

He's definitely crying again. He's getting the feeling he's going to be crying off and on for a long time.]

I love you. I love you so much, Peter. I needed you back... I didn't know what to do.
