[His head cocks that direction mid-portal before he looks up at the way back. Something isn't right. Something about this is not right, normally he's more on the ball. But it's Peter. He can hear Peter down there, so he's- He has to.
Leo hesitates before gritting his teeth, tightening his muscles and letting himself fall. without another portal.]
[The fall feels both too short, and too long all at once. Like Leo is hurtling though space as the world around him whirls with a mixture of green fog and fleshy pulsating walls.
He can hear the Krang leader's laughter following him.
The ground is surprisingly hard, old wood that has yet to be tainted with the Krang's reach. The living walls seem to be creeping downwards after Leonardo. Squelching wetly as new sections take shape.
A single light sways overhead where the ceiling hasn't been caved in by the Krang's presence. It flickers, giving the room a dull almost yellowed glow.
A figure lays a few feet away, curled in on himself. The red and blue fabric of is suit catches the light. The figure breathes out weakly, head lulled to the side.]
[While the illusions are fake, the feeling of the impact is real. He groans when he hits the ground before realizing what's around him. His worst fucking nightmare as the wet sounds hit his ears and he wants to withdraw into his shell so badly.
But Peter.
His breath stops as soon as he sees Peter laying there. And in a second, Leo's half trying to get to his feet, half running to get to him.]
[The fallen figure doesn't move until Leo finally gets close enough to reach him.
Peter's breathing is labored. He curls into himself, starting to cough again. His hands raise, scrabbling at his face desperately. Gloved fingers catch at his hair and at his face. He is unaware of Leo, unaware of anything else.
He coughs harder, his chest heaving in the effort it takes to breath. Like he's trying to get something out of his body.
Finally, Peter moves to lay on his back and it becomes clear enough one the socket in one eye has been pried apart, a golden yellow very alien eye peers back out at Leonardo. Pink tendrils push outwards across his scalp and face, slowly taking over bruised and cut skin.
The matted blood in his hair from earlier only seems to have gotten worse thanks to the pink Krang tendrils pushing themselves to freedom. The scent of blood only makes the area around them smell worse.
The fabric of his spider suit is tattered, burnt in places. New holes are made as the infestation settles over his body. Weaving through his limbs, pulsating wetly. It settles over his fists, and lower arms in a tight woven knot of flesh.
Another eye froms, locking onto Leo finally.
His movement isn't smooth, but he pushes himself up, his gaze locked on Leonardo.
Recognition isn't present in his gaze at all as he stands up.
Green fog rolls across the ground, rising as Peter sways in place. He looks like a strong enough breeze could blow him over.]
It's definitely more than a shout, but it isn't as full as a scream when Leo sees it. That unnatural, sickly yellow eye focusing on him. Leo's breath is gone, vacated from the premises as he stares at Peter, infected and taken over by the Kraang.
This shouldn't be happening. This can't be happening. They'd taken care of the Kraang leader, he was gone, and the other tw-
Fuck. The other two. Had they gotten out? Or had Beck's people gotten one to sample and make this happen? There are any number of possibilities but the result is the same: Peter is here, in front of him, taken over and there isn't anything he can really do about it.]
Peter- [His voice comes out croaked, blustering and struggling.] Peter! Don't- Don't worry, we'll figure this out. We'll get you fixed.
small>[Panic. That's the feeling he's having right now. Panic.]
[He should recognize that. Leo should be able to recognize that Peter's ninpo isn't with the Peter right in front of him. But he's too panicked, too off kilter to notice just yet, taking steps back and jumping out of the way of the Krangter attacking him now.]
Peter! It's me, come on- You can't- can't be this.
[The krang just flashes its teeth in a snarl at Leo, the skin around Peter's face taut and strangely pulling apart at the edges. More of the pink krang presence seemingly trying to push its way through the skin.
Leo should feel a tug, like Peter is reaching out to him blindly. It doesn't match the snarling visage of the other possessed teenager leaping at him again.]
No- Nooo no no, no this- [He shakes his head, taking another step back still gripping his swords. But he feels the tug, like a second nature, and instinctively pulses his own back. Leo doesn't realize he does it.
Before he can think, he has to roll out of the way, portaling himself to a good twenty feet behind the krang. His voice is strained, barely contained despair.]
[The krang possessed teenager howls, the sound grieved as much as it is angry. A thrashing struggle between being present and not quite there anymore as he skids to a hard stop nearly falling over in the process.
The krang twists, trying to charge at Leo again.
The pull on the ninpo only increases, a firm tug further away. Further back. Practically a plea to pay attention.
The sound of something exploding overhead certainly adds to the oddity of the situation.]
[He almost does it hear the noise over the sound of his heart in his own ears. But he looks up at the noise, seeing debris and dust overhead and moves to tuck and roll the direction he felt that ninpo calling and tugging at him. It isn't a conscious decision, something just urging him that direction.]
[The krang version of Peter tries to follow, still intent on attacking Leo regardless of how far he goes. The turtle can likely hear the snarling and light quick footsteps chasing him.
The floor overhead shakes, more debris becoming obvious. A space Leo wasn't supposed to be looking at closely if at all. There was an odd gap on that space, as if the krang had never touched it at all. The floorboards above shake, something heavy landing there again.
The tug on their ninpo becomes stronger. Along with a pull at the rest of the clan as if calling for some kind of help.]
[He sees it, sees that gap. That's... something? Isn't it? He chances another look at the Krang Peter, only holding his swords up to block anything that comes his way.
But he needs to get up there. He clenches his jaw, feeling his teeth grind before slicing his sword through the air to his side, a portal opening under him and dropping through to a portal higher up, starting to climb his way up to that gap.]
[Webbing bounces off his blades, but the way it hits the metal is just slightly wrong, like it is something heavier than it should be. The Krangified Peter comes darting towards Leo and just misses him as the turtle portals out of the way.
With his landing, it becomes obvious how odd the gap really is. Like two images aren't intersecting as they should.
He can see the edge of an illusion clipping slightly. If look past, it becomes obvious that there is something behind the krang infestation of the walls.
In the background, he can hear Peter crying out, more of an animalistic guttural sound than his own voice.]
[He sees it, sees where the illusion is clipping. Of course. He knew this whole setup was weird and not working right, there's no way he could've fallen like that. Leo keeps pushing upward and going, ignoring that guttural sounding cry to focus on where he's going.]
[One last push up and he's up back on the previous floor. Its like he's stepped into a completely different space. Edges of the illusion can't fit completely around the enclosed space.
The entire room is dark, but looks like the echo of a high school hallway. Lockers and fluorescent lights flickering overhead. Mysterio is disappearing and reappearing as Peter tries to stay out of the reach of his blsats.
Peter, the actual Peter, hits the floor hard with a yelp. He's dressed in his normal clothing, jeans, t-shirt, and a flannel shirt that has gotten more than a little torn up.
He rolls onto his feet awkwardly, trying to avoid another locker trying to crash into him. His connection to Leo's ninpo pulses, which alerts Peter to the fact he isn't alone. His gaze snaps in his boyfriend's direction immediately.]
[Peter is relieved when Leo just drops down next to him. He reaches out to touch his boyfriend, and confirm that he's real. The pulse of their shared connection to the ninpo is a relief. A relief Peter wants to hold onto as Mysterio remains out of sight.
Green fog continues rolling in, lockers rattling around them as lights sway overhead. The stale air around them smells like a highschool even in passing. Peter can't help but try to focus on Leo more to ground himself.]
Stay with me. [It's his immediate answer, just glancing around. He closes his eyes, leaning into his spider-sense.
He lets go of his hold on Leo to rise to his feet swiftly and take a wild swing at the air near to the right of them.
His fist connects with something metallic. The crashing of his fist breaking through the metal is loud. Sparks fly as Peter snaps his hand back, gritting his teeth somewhat. He shakes it off quickly as he can as something drops nearby, still out of sight.
He probably burned his hand in the process, but he'll manage. He opens his eyes to look at Leo again.]
So, we're going to try something really weird. But go with me here. So we can both see.
I can kind of see past some of this with my spider sense.
[He pulls at their ninpo loosely, pouring some of his own abilities through to Leo.
When the turtle closes his eyes, he'll 'see' rippling outlines making a web across the floor and walls defining the space more clearly, like a dark hallway being lit.
It also makes the drones flying around them all the more obvious.
The prickling sense of danger is palatable, like something creeping against the back of his neck. A warning that doesn't cease.]
[This is all Peter, so Leo's taking his cues from him. But the warning is good. Seeing what he's doing - punching air and hitting mechanical something - has Leo taking some mental notes. All right... Okay.]
Got it.
[He braces himself for the shared ninpo and. Oh, that's very interesting. Is this how it is for Peter but like. All the time? Leo would probably go insane after a while, but it's useful for now. He already does enough with vibrations that this just adds on to it, the parts that he can't feel when things are floating around in the air.]
Got a specific plan of attack you want, or can I just go?
Go for it. [Peter says readily. Just reaching out a brief hand to touch his boyfriend's arm. He keeps having to just confirm that Leo is real.
His sense of reality is warped at this point. He just wants to hold onto Leo desperately. He has to force himself to draw back. The drones are circling them, and at this point both teenagers can likely feel it.]
[Leo looks to Peter when he hears that. I trust you. Such a rare sentiment and even rarer words directed to him these days. But it bolsters his spirit, their connection together, and Leo smiles.
Then his grin widens as he looks out around them at the drones he can't see but can feel.]
All right, you heard the man! Time to party! [And he'll dash forward, sinking to his knees to slide under the first drone and slice his blade up through the bottom of it with a loud crackle of electric circuitry.]
[Peter laughs a little as his boyfriend takes off, the first laugh Peter's had all day since he got caught up in this.
The drone flickers into view, visible to the naked eye as the electricity crackles and it breaks apart.
What rush of victory Peter feels is short lived as the remaining drones shift formation, breaking into pairs to swing at the teenagers. The drones open fire on both of them. Peter trusts Leo will be okay. Peter ducks under the array of bullets, charging forward at the drones. The pair focused on him try to outmaneuver him, but one is grabbed by the teenager and pitched into a nearby wall.
With drones being broken the illusion isn't holding as cleanly as it should. The two can likely hear amongst the gunfire Quentin Beck's voice raised.]
