[Peter now realizes someone was standing there the entire time and he turns an interesting shade of red, squeaking a little.
He's frozen in place long enough for the card to come back out. Peter's stomach sinks a little assuming Leo is just plainly uninterested until he actually picks up the card. The note back earns a startled kind of laugh out of Peter.
He fumbles to pluck a pen out of his sweater pocket to circle the y on the question, sliding it back under the door.
[Totally normal. Leo crouches down by the door waiting. Does not even bother if his roommates are watching him do this.
But he waits and sees the card come back.
All Peter will hear is a moment of silence... and then a heroic WHOOP on the other side of the door before it flies open and Leo's standing there, holding that card and grinning.]
[Peter turns redder, if possible at the whoop. That is a good sign, right? Right, he's going to assume so. He waits at the door, just kind of hoping Leo will come out. If they are going to communicate by notes, he's not sure what to do.]
So. [He is trying to get his thoughts together.] I like you.
[Why, yes he can go redder. Miracles upon miracles. He laughs a little at the response, moving to just pick up the wrapped candy he had been trying to shove under the door up.]
I'm sneaky like that. Absolutely unseen. [He's so bad at this. He thinks distantly of MJ. How he tried so hard and it never went anywhere.] I just... I wanted to do like this seven part plan, but then, Valentine's day like came out of nowhere. I didn't want to miss it, but the plan was like- not really ready yet...
Normally, I kind of just jump into problems and see if punching it fixes it-? Or math, math, or punching. [An absolutely normal thing to say. Peter realizes that a beat too late.]
I guess I can raincheck the really big plan, and just... see what kind of date we'd wanna go on?
[Leo's on board with everything so far. Jump in and punch, very Raph style. Math is Donnie style. Combined together could be interesting. Hyper-precision-
His thoughts derail at that second part though. Looking a little surprised before he masks it.]
The dinner was technically your idea. [Peter points out, his smile warming up a little more.]
I think, it would be nice though. Just, us in a movie theater in the back maybe? I don't have security detail on me anymore, so we could actually be alone for real.
I guess they realized we weren't going to commit any other crimes, so yeah. [Well, not any obvious crimes. Peter can guess Donnie just does whatever he wants.] Do you wanna do it today or... are you busy?
I think I can handle that. If it is bad, it'll at least be kinda funny too. [He's relaxing now, loosening up from his nerves he built up over the past week or so of figuring things out.] Are we just picking a place to eat randomly, or is it pizza take out?
Let's say... some place we can grab burgers and go. So we don't have to stay out too long. It's always crazy with people on Valentine's day. [That feels like a plan. A decent one at that. Peter doesn't want Leo to be feel trapped in the glamour forever. Peter likes Leo as Leo in the first place.]
Should I- change? [He looks down at himself, trying to guess if this is like date material clothing or not.] To be honest, I've never been on a date before.
[Peter snorts a little at use of pogchamps, still just smiling at Leo.]
Okay, maybe... a nicer shirt- I think I have one? [He has to think about it, but shakes his head, just extending the chocolate he pilfered out to Leo.] Right, I- grabbed these for you too.
[No one just?? Gives him things? Usually there's some trick to it, or gimmick. Nothing is ever freely given. Though he guesses the trick here is he goes on a date. Leo take the chocolates almost reverently and just holds them for now.]
Thanks. I, um. I'll- [Wait he should like. Figure something out to give to him. Right? That's how it works right???]
Oh- no, it's- you don't have to. I just wanted to make sure you got candy with the card. I didn't have time to make you candy, but I got these at least.
djkashsa oh my god

[Peter is clearly the stealthiest. But Leo stands there, crosses his arms watching Peter.]
Rule one of multi-step plans, always account for when they don't work.

[Honestly? He appreciates it. Not that he's not super down to look like his dad as a human, but it's ... weird to think about.]
