So, it means we'll have more patrols to ourselves then. We can hold hands after kicking butt. [The romance is high bar here. Peter is really fond of the idea though, given his expression.] Maybe we can actually hunt down a food truck without it exploding.

Man, wouldn't that be something? Would love that. Maybe we can find one that won't blow up, and isn't run by Meatsweats.

It'd be nice to actually do something food-related without having to go 'is Meatsweats involved?' every time. [Peter muses with a laugh.] There is this one truck near Hells Kitchen, that makes these really good walking tacos.

Oh yeah? I'll have to grab a hoodie or something so we can hit that up.

[Hueso would probably enjoy Leo going literally anywhere else to eat sometime.]

The truck is usually out pretty late, so, kinda perfect for us. [He is still working on the pizza slice.] They take only cash, so makes buying stuff a little hard if you don't have pockets.

[Now Leo knows why his boyfriend added pockets to his costume.]

[Ooooh those were cash money pockets and not 'future turtle boyfriend puts his hands here' pockets.]

[Turtle hands are also welcome, it will take Peter a bit to realize he can invite hands in.] I'll probably be on patrol and end up sending you a picture of where it ends up so we can maybe plan something.

I have pockets now, so, I can at least carry stuff for you if you want. You have a lot of stuff in your pouch already.

Sounds good. [Finishes his slice and just... Settles for watching Peter. Because he can, he's legally allowed to now.] Looking forward to it.

[Being watched makes Peter turn a little pink.] I could, probably make you something too. If... you want.

[Food is a safe topic for two teenagers who eat A Lot.]

I mean, I like cooking. I like you, so, I wanna cook for you. [He smiles back at Leo.] Have you ever had latkes?

[A small huff of laughter escapes Peter at how Leo pronounces it, but he doesn't seem bothered by it.]

It's a Jewish dish, deep-fried potato discs. I like making them. I learned how to make them from my uncle when I was like- a lot younger.

They're really good. Like... the crunchiest part of french fries. [He's trying to find a good comparison to make the connection easier.]

I tend to make a lot of them usually, so, I think it'd be fun.

Oh- [Peter blinks a little, before smiling brightly at Leo. His accident rewards him fairly immediately.] Thanks. I'm just- excited to share with you.

Annnnd is it embarrassing or endearing if I say I wanna have whatever you wanna share?

[Peter doesn't hesitate to answer honestly, his smile pleased and soft at the edges, smitten.]

Endearing. [The urge to kiss Leo is there again, but he's aware enough to keep it somewhat contained.] I like you, and I want to share a lot with you.

[It is taking all the willpower in the universe to keep Leo rooted in his seat.]

[Peter laughs again, excited, happy, smitten, all rolled together into something bright and eager.]

I assumed we were trying to finish the pizza, but- I dunno, we can go- and do something.

[He's already waving down some poor server Hueso saddled to their table to get boxes. He's got way too much energy now to sit still, he needs to be moving.]

Come on, let's find something to do.

[He polishes off his current slice, the attempt decidedly inelegant and messy, but they need to go. They have to do something. He wipes his hands and face quickly.]
