[ Leo's sword swings beautifully through half the strands; Guard sags bodily on his left side for a moment as the force of the blow leaves him staggered. Then all of a sudden he's a whirlwind of struggle. Not necessarily against Leo - although that is happening too - but against himself. His left hand struggles against his right one, trying to prevent himself from aiming his staff at Leo again. ]
I - p-promised -
[ This time, the staff motion produces several sharp spikes, all aimed at Leo's torso. It's clumsier than the previous lightning strike, but still dangerous.
Meanwhile, Hunter struggles out of the mud a little further. That multicolored glow seems to settle in his skin, arcing up his arms and giving him just that little bit more power he needs to fight back. It's warm. It feels good, it feels like ...
(He needs to take a deep breath and trust Donnie. After all, the turtle is right: they've done this before.)
He lets out a wordless yell and hauls himself upwards. Out he comes out of the mud; he sprawls with that same multi-colored glow around him, weak for a moment, but regaining strength as the colors settle in. They begin to spread from around the two of them, forcing the green-black slime to retreat wherever it touches. ]
[As soon as Leo sees the spikes, he tries to move. Too worried about possibly hurting Guard in here, and a few of them slide through the side of his plastron and going in deep.
Doesn't matter. Ignore the pain, ignore the warmth oozing down (oozing, not dripping, but thick and viscous and darker red than it should be) because this is just a mental space. It's not his physical body so who cares, he can do this.]
Come on, Guard! Fight it, you can do this. Hunter needs you, your friends need you.
[He hears the yell though, shoots a glance back toward Donnie and Hunter and sees that glow, his own flickering faintly blue from the bridge to match.]
[Donnie feels it when they rocket up as there's suddenly no more resistance to the thrust of his jetpack, cutting the thrust to a hover as they reach the top of the trees. His arms wrap around Hunter, keeping his close, ignoring any of the burning mud.]
[Keep his family safe. Pain can be ignored while he does that.]
[The energy dances around them, mostly purple, but streaks of blue, red, orange intermixed, as he keeps pushing energy into Hunter. To help him recover, to keep him together, to give him the power to keep fighting.]
Leo!
[His head whips around to look for his twin and he breathes in sharply.]
[He pulls his staff off his back and holds it out to Hunter.] Mystic weapon and you have power in your head. [He looks to the bridge. There's blue and purple light still.] Raph! Disarm!
[And he's going to throw more power into the construct, try and overcome the spell by pushing Raph to be faster. More machine parts forming, adding on to the figure, increase the stress the servos can take, make it stronger, push for more speed.]
[The Robo Raph lets go of the bridge and turns to the fight, pushing to get closer as new parts are added, and more is added to the pneumatic pressure in his arms as they shoot out when he's in range to try and grab that staff away.]
[ Guard struggles with the slime strings again, forcing his arm down. At the same time, Robo Ralph makes his move - and grabs the staff out of Guard’s faltering grip. The spikes around Leo recede as Guard’s grip is broken.
Meanwhile, Hunter is becoming more solid the more energy Donnie pushes into him. He takes the staff offered, achingly slow at first. But Donnie is right, isn’t he? This is HIS head. He SHOULD have the most power here.
Hunter lets out a yell and swings the staff out at the slime infested trees. Gold light crackles all through them - crackles through Guard too - and forces more of the awful muck to recede.
It’s not calm - the storm rages even harder around them - but there is an opportunity here. The turtles have a chance to strike back, hard. ]
[The noise he makes is gross and wet and pained when the spikes recede, and Leo falls to one knee holding the side that got hit. But he looks up whe nhe hears, feels, Hunter waking up and getting out.]
Good, good, come on, keep going.
[And he looks back at Guard.] You too! [And throws his sword at Guard's right side.] You're almost there, come on!
[Its hard to be sure what is and is not safe to shoot at a head space, but Hunter is now on the attack. He knows what needs to be hit.]
[(The best thing would be Leo being allowed to leave here and recover. He knows Leo can push through the pain too. Trusts Leo to see this through.)]
[Finish the fight.]
[He holds up the hand that isn't wrapped around Hunter, energy crackling up his arm as machine parts pop into existence, slot together with clinking metal, and electronic beeps as an arsenal of laser cannons form above them. His eyes follow Hunter's path, looking for more of the slime and muck, the barrage of energy firing from the cannons to follow up Hunters own attack to hit them harder.]
[ Leo’s sword slices through the last of Guard’s puppet strings; he collapses down on one knee for a moment as he struggles to recover. He’s free at least - somewhere in the forest Belos howls in rage —-
Meanwhile, Donnie’s cannons rip through the muck. Wherever his violet light touches, the corruption dissolves into motes of light. Hunter is moving quickly himself, teleporting this way and that way to catch any fleeing tidbits with a blast of gold. Between the two of them - and Leo having freed the guard - the tide is turning now.
Instead, the last pieces of corruption try one last desperate effort. They merge into a slimy effigy of Hunter and try to barrel past Leo, heading for the bridge. ]
[All right. That's good, that's progress, that's something but it's not everything yet.
He sees what's happening, cannot possibly ignore the sound of all the cannons. That's Donnie, that's his brother
(It twists, that familial warmth, into pain, his brother protecting the NEW brother and not his twin-)
Leo breaks off two pieces of bridge as the slime-Hunter starts to go past him.]
No, you don't-
[He did this trick once. It worked, but it had been the end. This time they're all here, this time he has his swords- He can do this again. He slams himself against the slime, gritting his teeth against the burning and slams one sword into it, throwing the other sword to Donnie and Hunter's direction.]
Incoming! [And with a crackle of blue electricity, he portals them both to the air space in front of Donatello and Hunter.]
[Robo Raph moves to block off the bridge, to be sure nothing gets through. Protect the connection was his first order.]
[Leo's shouting. They missed something-]
[But Leo saw it.]
Hunter, precise target! [The cannons condensing down to an arm cannon. Power and precision because Leo will be there. All while he turns to that familiar sound, a staticy woosh, the bright light.]
[He aims as the two fingers appear, aims for what isn't blue and that particular green, feels the heat of the cannon ramp up, almost burning his own skin because who needs safety settings in the mind space when there is an evil uncle to destroy? Whatever gives more power is worth it.]
[ The portal drops both Leo and slime Hunter (Slimer??) right in the line of fire. He gets one moment for his glowing blue eyes to go wide before Donnie fires.
That’s a lot of firepower. It BLASTS through the slime, sending tidbits everywhere. Hunter finishes them off with little ripples of gold light - and Guard himself squelches the very last one with a trembling hand freed from its strings.
The storm quiets. The trees are damaged, but no longer corrupted. And that bridge still glows bright behind them. ]
[The minute he hears the heat ramping up, soon as he's through the portal, Leo lets go. Drops and rolls into a run as fast as he can out of the way until he falls face first into the ground holding his side, his front. Everything hurts, even in this mind scape.
But he looks up to see the gold and purple vibrant and tinting the landscape around them.
From where he lays on the ground, he grins and shoots them a thumbs up.]
[His arm is shaking. There are acid burns all up and down his arms. It hurts.]
[But the storm is gone. The trees are just a normal level of spooky. Hunter is up. Guard looks weak and shaken, but not hurt.]
Raph, check Guard.
[Robo Raph will move over to Guard, bringing his feeling of Safety, and see if he's in any dire need of help that Donnie needed to be alerted to.]
[Donnie flies over to Leo, dropping down to the ground. That is not a good injury, what does that MEAN in a mindscape, he doesn't know, is it like when they were in dad's and injuries transferred, or is it different-]
[He lands beside Leo and his hands go out to his shoulder, the Ninpo is still thrumming through him, and he'll push more towards Leo. Hoping it'll help stabilize him, make it not so bad, something-]
[ Guard sits up slowly with Robo Raph’s help. His mask has cracked and fallen to pieces, but he seems unhurt. Just weak and exhausted. There’s nothing critical that needs their help; in fact, Hunter himself is kneeling next to Guard to look him over for injuries himself. The grimwalker brothers have this corner taken care of for now, so Donnie and Leo can focus on theirs. ]
[His entire front burned from holding on to Slimer to make sure he didn't get away from Leo, his side bleeding that same dark red from the spikes. But Leo looks up at Donnie, then past him at the grimwalker brothers.]
[Donnie looks over his shoulder. There's a thumbs up from Robo Raph.]
[He let's out a breath and looks over to Leo.] Okay for now. Not full of holes like you. [He gives him a wobbly smile, that's definitely more 'stressed out and about to not keep it together' than anything.]
[Curse his inability to use mystic powers while feelings things, he wants to shut down-]

Your....your blood is abnormal. Did he do something weird to you? Do you feel feverish or...poisoned somehow?
[ Both blonds look up at that. Guard still looks pale and weak, sprawled on the ground and exhausted, but Hunter looks much stronger than he did when he was drowning in the muck. He’s still faintly glowing with residual ninpo.
Hunter levers himself up with a gold staff topped with a set of cardinal wings. Not Flapjack; more of a fusion with the artificial staff design. ]
