[Darius watches that. He can see it's building and goes to follow Hunter. The rest of his friends are still grouped around it though they were preparing another way to destroy it (fire, really) but not sure how to keep it from burning up the field as well. Luz was showing them about getting the grass around it wet but stops when she sees Hunter approaching.]

"Hey! We were just about to burn the last of this."

Then just burn it already. Why are you still talking about it? I-it could come back at any moment!

[Luz and Amity sort of startle at that intensity before looking at each other. Amity nods and sets to work finishing the water spell around the area.]

"We have to make sure we don't burn the whole field down, Hunter. We'll start in a minute."

No! Burn it now!

[ He gestures with his staff, summoning a (thankfully small enough to extinguish) blaze with it. ]

[Willow is quick to put it out while Gus comes by to put a hand to Hunter's arm.] "Hey. Remember that breathing exercise I showed you? Let's do that."

[Willow watches that and smiles, glad something she showed Gus is being helpful here too. She and Amity finish prepping the area before carefully lighting the Krang smear ablaze, not letting the flames go further than where Luz had wet the grass around it.]

[ Sorry Gus, Hunter shoves his hand away. ]

I don't want to breathe! I want to make sure that thing is completely dead! That there's no possibility of it spreading to - to you, or anyone else ever again!

[Gus does look a little hurt at that, looking at the rest of the group. The smell of the burning Krang mush stings nostrils, everyone else starting to lift their jersey over their noses. But Luz comes over to Hunter watching him carefully.]

"...Hunter, I get it. That thing- It hurt someone you care about. And you wanna make sure it doesn't hurt anyone else. But. Would he want to see you like this?"

[ Hunter can imagine Leo standing there, watching in horror. Or reaching out with concern when he’s the one who’s hurt. That thought especially makes him crumple in on himself. ]

There almost wasn’t anything left of him to see me. He could have died. You could all die too if that thing isn’t gone.

[ Seems pretty dead now tho. ]

[Leo had wanted to help keep Hunter from angry violence from the moment they met before the Death by Destiny maze game, even.

Luz chances a hand to Hunter's shoulder, sure and reassuring as she looks back at the smouldering pile.]

"Seems pretty dead now."

[ Yeah. Leo wouldn’t want that at all.

Hunter reluctantly takes in deep breaths, counting to 4 like Gus recommended. ]

I thought it was dead before too.

"Well..."

[She looks at the whole group, at Darius close by watching. Then smiles at Hunter.]

"We all know what to look out for now. So we can all keep an eye out."

As long as you’re sure. As - long as we come back here and make sure it hasn’t infected the ground or something.

[ He’s deflating again slowly. ]

[Something Luz and Leo have in common besides being weirdo outsiders who speak Spanish and use a three letter L-name, is that unending optimism. She smiles at him, eager to help with that.]

"Don't worry. We're not gonna let that happen."

[ It's SO hard to trust right now. Not because he doesn't trust his friends, but because he doesn't trust himself.

He goes through another rotation of breathing exercises. Looks at Gus, at Willow ... at Darius. And then back to Luz. ]

O-okay. Okay. As long as ... as long as we're all watching out.

[Luz smiles a little more, moving to hug Hunter now that he's calmed down some from the anger.]

"We're all gonna keep an eye out. We won't let it hurt anyone else."

[ He nods, then. and just starts sobbing on Luz. ]

[Oh...

She hugs him still, rubbing his back some. Gonna be fine buddy ): Amity and Gus come closer with Darius to keep an eye out and make sure no one's just. Rubbernecking this whole situation.]

[ Thanks Luz. he's gonna get your shirt all wet.

Eventually he draws back, still sniffling a little. ]

I should - I should go to the hospital now.

"Yeah... He's probably waiting for you." [She tries to smile a little and hands him off to Darius. He mostly just sounds tired. This has been so much of a whirlwind since they found that turtle demon.]

"Come on, Hunter. Let's go see if your fiancé is still in one piece."

[ Sorry Darius. Hunter leans a little closer to him. ]

He's not in one piece. The other piece is gone now.

"Hm. There's still the bulk of him though."

[Humor still gets lost on the little prince, it seems. But he'll walk with Hunter to the university healing wing, let him go in and wait at the door.

Leo's back in the same room he was in before when he showed up. A little paler, a lot tired. A few healers are still there with him talking to him while Lucky sits perched on his lap in the bed. He doesn't hear Hunter coming up though. Just trying to focus on what's being said.]

[ Hunter hesitates a moment at the door, then pokes his head in. ]

Leo...?

[Leo's head snaps up looking like he's seeing a ghost before settling to familiar. A little smile and a wave.]

Hunts, hey. Uh.

[The healers look at Hunter before moving to let him come in.]

I think they're just finishing up.

[ Hunter hurries to his side then, looking him over. ]

How - how do you feel?
