First, I'm going to need to explain some things I don't think Hunter would have wanted me to share, but that was before his evil uncle came back from the dead and I want you to have all the factors in play.

Which I'll apologize for later, but...circumstances.

[He rubs at the back of his neck thinking, something just ... off. But too much to focus on to figure out what.]

Okay, so let's hear it.

Hunter's uncle was the tyrannical leader of his home. Hunter was raised as an isolated and...abused nephew and child soldier.

Which should tell you most everything of the state we might find Hunter in. He has realized his uncle is bad and he deserves better, but it's a more recent development. What the head knows doesn't mean the emotions do.

And Hunter is a constructed being. [Which he is less hesitant to admit because Leo knows SHELLDON and it's the same idea.] A magical one. Most of his body is made of the same stuff as Flapjack here. Specifically he's a clone of his uncle's brother, but if I had to guess, it's fueled because the man cannot own up to his own mistakes than simply missing his brother that much. He destroys the clones because they're 'not perfect' and that is quite telling of his priorities.

[ Flapjack burbles unhappy agreement with all of that. ]

[Oh that fills in the other 5% of what he couldn't figure out on his own from that confrontation. Even as he feels an instinctive need to correct, that isn't right-

And Hunter's just the most recent one that luckily got a support network. Man, I was right on the money about that therapy thing.

....you've met him, I take it? Whats your take on him so far?

For a minute, yeah.

[Way longer than a minute, if the acidic burn scars around his neck and ankle are anything to show for it.]

Strong, definitely evil. A little too convinced of his own ideas.

[Yeeeeah, noting that. One point for maid outfit, most of his skin was covered so it's mostly on his upper arms and clothes themselves.]

.... [He hesitates.] I want to preface I am not having some kind of emotional crisis.

Belos is like me. Up the need to be right, possessive jealousy, and lower selfless love in regards to family. Mix in the ability to read and manipulate effectively. Genocidal tendencies.

I was trying to be nice since Raph and Mikey aren't here to mitigate, but yeah. A lot like you if you didn't have Pops and the three of us and April.

Its how I got him gunning for me. It's easy enough to figure out my own triggers and they worked quite well on him.

I am, however, fairly secure in our differences. It's pretty obvious whose living a happier life.

Though provoking him means he wants to hurt you to get to me over hurting solely because Hunter likes you, but all things considered, I didn't think you would resent me for the move? And I trust your skill.

[Oh, is that what he's proposing?

Some vile dark shadowy thing recoils in his mind, angry at the words. Leonardo stuffs it down and away, further into shadow.]

Long as I know it's coming, we can handle it.

[He nods.] Good. I thought you'd agree.

Now for the objective I had in mind. [He pulls out a purple crystal with a glyph carved into it.] Hunter is modeled to look like a witch. However, because he is a Grimwalker, he cannot use magic like witches. I assume all his personal magic is used to keep his body together, functioning, and to keep up the facsimile.

However, his core is a magic amplifier, and probably the means to which everything fuses together properly and...I had a thought.

He is a construct. An object. But also a person who can feel love and trust. With a make up that takes in magical parts and makes it part of him.

Gram-Gram was able to grant April the Ninpo, but she's human. Still, it's proof of concept so I wondered if a construct like Hunter could take an object enhanced with Ninpo and make it apart of himself...if that might connect him to the power.

I've been doing trial runs. We were able to use this crystal to mind meld.

[This is a great plan. He should do it. He should encourage this.]

I mean, yeah. April was always one of us, we all thought of her like family so that tracks with what she told us.

[He looks at the crystal though, reaching to take it and inspect it himself.]

Could work. Hunter considers us family and same back at him, especially if you were able to mind meld with him.

[He nods, relaxing a bit. He wasn't sure if this was crissinga line.]

I was. And we're seen how the Ninpo works with unwanted passengers before.

The crystal isn't a permanent anchor, but if we could get it on him, we can reach Hunter and help him out. Like you did with Raph, but with direct magical encouragement.

[neonleon]

["Like you did with Raph".

Pain. Guilt. A little hope. Watching his brother be mind controlled from an external force. Something in his heart twists a little tighter.]

It's worth a try. For Hunter.

[He nods.] Yes.

....and I already know I can get to where I think Belos was hiding.

I saw it before, I just didn't realize what is was.

[He's trusting Donnie with this; he knows Hunter better, has known him longer. better to get all the info, even as he feels his soul healing just a touch. His ninpo growing a little brighter in him.]

Anyway, there is a deeper level where Guard is and where Hunter is when Guard is in charge. It's deeper than the normal meld, but not as deep as we got into dad that one time. I had at least some physical awareness.

It looks like a creepy forest and the goo was there. Infecting the trees.
