The whole situation, the whole fight and everything after was bad, enough his dreams are dark and expansive, purples and reds coloring his vision as the world goes mute and only the sound of metal clanging comes through before it quiets down again.
Everything hurts right now, and he's sure his shell and plastron feel different.]
...Wha? [Blearily and turning his head slowly, one eye bandaged over from one of the more direct Kraang punches.]
[An actual verbal response startles Peter decently. He sits up fully, sending the blanket falling away. Hope, relief and worry mingle together sharply in his chest.
Peter reaches out, before drawing back, afraid he'll hurt his boyfriend worse somehow.]
[The sudden voice by his head is... not entirely welcome, closing his eye and wincing. His head aches so badly, even gripping tight at the sheet covering him isn't doing much but giving him a direct focus.]
I-
[Is he awake? Everything kinda blurred after he saw the gold of a portal, and he has a vague distinct memory of Staten Island... but everything after that is a blur.]
[The wince makes Peter shrink into himself somewhat, dropping his voice somewhat as he speaks. He doesn't want to mess this up. He doesn't want to make Leo hurt worse.] Do... Do you want me to get Donnie, or your dad-?
No. [Too quick to say, too quiet under his breath. He doesn't wanna be fussed over, doesn't want to be poked and prodded which he is sure is what will happen if this is real.
I wasn't here during a lot of this, Leo. [He says quietly back. He finds himself settling into a short concise summary. Something easy enough for leo to pull add details or correct.] The krang attacked the city, mutated most of it, you guys handled it and you got separated from everyone else.
[Peter let his hands rest against the edge of the bed.]
I was hurt, but it's healed over. It was- [He blows out a breath, still struggling to even talk about all of it. He had given everyone else a summary. Now it was Leo's turn.] Anyway. I'm okay now.
[Later, after some more rest, after he's more coherent, he'll wonder why he didn't ask more questions. As it is, he relaxes, just a hair. Just a little. He reaches one hand to Peter, touching at his hair with shaky fingers.]
I'm glad you're going to be okay soon. [Peter leans into the touch, desperate to be close but afraid to crowd.
After his brush with Mysterio, he feels less steady. Shaky, like every shadow was going to leap out at him.]
When we're both feeling better, we'll talk about everything, okay? [He wants to hear Leo's side of things as much as he's sure Leo wants to hear what happened to him. He wants the promise to stick.]
[Leo doesn't answer, not immediately. His eye is focused on Peter, trying to take him in. Even as messed up as he is right now, he can tell something happened, something's got Peter shaken and maybe it's egotistical to think it's himself.]
[It is a lot of things coming together at once. His brush with Mysterio, his inability to come home as quickly as he wanted, learning that Leo was hurt this badly. There was so much going wrong right now and there wasn't much Peter could do about it.]
Do you at least want the good parts- right now? [An unspoken invitation to focus on something else, something less dire.] I'm just really happy you're awake right now.
[He scoots his chair a bit closer, barely having room to manage that much. He does manage a smile, trying to relax.
He just talks, a bit aimlessly about the early part of the trip. Its stuff he had given Leo mild texts about before but hadn't gotten a chance to get into detail about.]
[Leo listens, or tries to. Focusing on Peter's face as he talks. he catches snippets of things he remembers from before, and with a clearer head he'd ask about it. But it's exhausting trying to focus too much. He drifts and it's hard to tell if he's listening or falling asleep again.
He does, though. He falls asleep again pretty quickly after the second time his eyelids droop.]
[Peter just fills the space with words, a lot of words until Leo drifts off.
He falls quiet for the moment, just holding onto his boyfriend's hand. He leans against the side of the bed again. Peter eventually drowses next to Leo, drifting between awake and asleep himself. More than a little tense given the state his partner is in now.]
[It takes a while for consciousness to come back around into Leo's orbit. He wakes with a small jerk, breath hitching before he exhales and looks around again.
Right. Medbay. Home. No Krang. Peter ...Here? He looks and sees Peter still there indeed. Reaches one hand out for his.]
[Peter is solidly asleep, in most awkward position possible hunched half over the bed. Only occasionally can Raph or Mikey actually talk him into sleeping somewhere semi decent.
He startles a little at the touch, before blinking awake. His expression brightens immediately as he realizes Leo is awake. His voice is a little scratchy.]
Hey.
Edited (damn words escaped!!) 2022-12-12 16:48 (UTC)
I'm good here. [Peter manages to sit up, grounding himself with the feeling of Leo's hand in his own. The comfortable weight of it feels right.
He fumbles to grab onto Leo's hand, desperation and panic sharp in his chest as they fall. He's too far away now to get Leo. He just missed his boyfriend's hand, so all he can do is dive after him. The bleak green tinged darkness swallows them whole as the moon disappears behind thick clouds. He desperately tries to reach for Leo with his ninpo, and just can't.
He meets Leo's eyes just for a second before the turtle hits the ground with a wet crunch that makes Peter's stomach twist itself into knots. Tears burn at his eyes.
Peter barely reacts when he hits the ground, hard enough he can't breath. He landed badly, on something hard he can't even see. He can feel glass cutting in the fabric of the suit, hear the rush of wind blowing around him. His vision is spotty, but his body moves on its own as a green blast of magic comes towards him. He's on his feet, moving but his gaze is locked on the body laying just within reach.
The world tilts on its access again, and Peter can't find him. He can hear Leo laughing, the sound strained and broken. He feels Beck's hands on his throat and hits the ground again.
The memory creeps under his skin and makes Peter's breath shake slightly before he can contain it. He focuses on Leo's hand, just carefully raising it to press it against his cheek.]
I wanna be sure you're okay. With everything that happened.
[Leonardo's too tired to notice anything subtle, anything serious happening here. The pain medication Donnie somehow got his hands on circulating doesn't make it any easier either. But he feels his hand against Peter's cheek when it feels like two seconds and a lifetime ago it was resting on the bed.
He instinctively pulses his ninpo out to Peter, the electric pulse reaching for him just to see if he's there and this isn't some pain induced dream.]

...Right. The... prison. [He full body shudders remembering the Prison Dimension, not wanting to even say the full name of it.
After a minute of careful breathing, the rest catches up to him. Peter, Peter and the krang attacked-]
You're okay?

Yeah, Europe was.... bad, other stuff happened. [How does he even explain that mess?] We can worry about it later.

That's- that's more than fine. I just- I know you don't wanna talk about all of This right now, and I just...
I just wanna be here with you.

Y'should be in bed.
