[Leo doesn't immediately register his name, let alone that it's Peter. He instinctively curls around Casey tighter, shielding him from whomever is trying to get to him -

Pain in his arm from the pressure and he can't help the noise he makes in his throat - somewhere between a whimper and a weak cry. But with the connection, Peter can feel it. All his anger at the situation, at these people. The fear that anyone else might've gotten hurt even the rioters who did this. The unbearable pain coursing through him from any number of injuries, but the shoulder is the worst.

The crowd is quiet for a beat before whispers start again. What's going on? More monster weirdness. Where are we supposed to go? We're definitely being kicked out now and more murmurings about the rumors that so many are being told to leave with no reason.

Leo doesn't hear any of it. He's still frozen, shivering.]

[Peter pours more of his healing factor into his husband, desperate to try and help mend the wound. He reaches out to Mikey, April, and Donnie through the ninpo. He can feel their call in turn.

He reaches out to Leo, just trying to reassure him, help ground him with their connection.

Peter speaks, keeping his voice loud and authoritative. He's trying to keep his voice even, but anger is sharp and brittle at the edges.]

No one is being thrown out! When my husband isn't bleeding out on the floor, I'll actually discuss things with all of you!

[The murmuring quiets down. People shuffle uncertainly, not quite sure what to do now. Peter keeps the fabric pressed against the wound, tight as he can manage without making the wound worse.]

Leo, c'mon, we need to move. Get you to the medbay.

[There is a ringing in his ear that has been going nonstop for the last five minutes. Everything sort of stopped in his mind to register what happened as the pain started to set in.

But something is happening. He can feel it in how the pain is starting to numb to just this side of "not wanting to pass out", but it was. In fact. Still a lot of blood he lost for those five minutes.

The danger must have passed. It must be over, his fight instinct letting him go and his muscles loosen. He shifts forward a bit more over Casey before heavily slumping into Peter.]

Uncle Leo? [Casey sounds so small for a seven year old. Bundled up in Leo's arm still, but not as tightly as his mentor passes out.]

He's just resting a little, Case. [Peter promises gently, moving to web the fabric against the arm, binding it across the back of Leo's shell to hold it in place. Once he's sure it's secure, he moves to scoop up both of them effortlessly. He keeps Leo tucked close to his body, holding him up carefully with one arm, the other keeping a hold of Casey. A hand against the boy's back.

The seven year old peeks out at Peter, who smiles reassuringly at him.]

We're going to go to the medbay, just to make sure he's okay.

[The sight of Peter just picking up someone Leo's size along with Casey is enough to make more of the crowd start to part. Peter doesn't particularly wait for them, bullying his way through the crowd. He would just go across the wall if it didn't somehow hurt Leo in the process.

The medbay should be safe. It was one of the few places unaffected by the riot. The staff had done lockdown protocols as soon as the call of in base violence rang out over the radios.]

[He's easy to lift for Peter. Like a large cat or something, but Casey keeps looking at Leo's pained face and then at Peter's. He's been holding it together, but his lip and jaw trembles with the effort of a small boy trying very hard not to cry.

The crowd parts, one of the guards picking up Leo's sword from the ground so no one else gets it.

The infirmary is safe. Quiet. Easier to hear Leo's pulse pounding in his chest and Casey's quiet crying.]

[The smell of his husband's blood sticks in the back of Peter's throat as he runs. He can tell the scarf he used is being soaked through still.

Peter spends the run gently shushing Casey, rubbing his hand across the boy's back. Murmuring quiet promises and reassurances. It's all he can even do.

The whole situation is fucked. So severely fucked.

The quiet broken fairly immediately. As soon as they enter the infirmary, they are swarmed by the medical staff. Questions are peppered at Peter, who answers to the best of his ability, just trying to give as much useful information as he can.

Peter is relieved and stressed in equal measure. He tucks Casey protectively against himself as he reluctantly sets his husband down on a table. Control is taken out of his hands entirely as he backs off, just gently keeping Casey close.

Mikey's arrival is a relief. April and Donnie aren't far behind.]

[The medical staff on hand take over. They pull the curtains so they can work quickly and without any fuss.

But the family showing up are hesitant and more than a little frazzled, Mikey trying to check up on Casey and Peter first.]

You're both okay? Not hurt?

I'm okay. [Peter is quick to dismiss his own state. It wasn't about him.] Casey? Are you okay, honey? Are you hurt?

[The seven year old hiccups, burying his face against Peter's shoulder, small hands closing into fists around the fabric of Peter's clothes. Peter coaxes a hand across Casey's back, taking the moment to look over the boy best he can.

He glances back up at Mikey, answering simply enough.]

Just a couple scratches I think. I didn't see what happened, I came just as it ended.

[Mikey at least looks relieved at that, Casey not being hurt. A couple bandages and he'll be fine.]

I'll get Dee to pull the footage if Leo can't tell us when he's .............less. Bleeding out.

[Peter falls into an old habit of gently bouncing Casey in his grasp, that much seems to help the boy a little.]

I think he's going to be... out of it. For a while. [Peter says softly back, his lips thinning out into a pained grimace. The mental image is burned in his mind. With the adrenaline of the situation slowed down, he can't help but feel the horror of it creep up on him.]

[Mikey watches Casey start to relax. He's usually a bright kid, loud and eager like his mom. This is the first time since he was a toddler that Mikey remembers seeing him shrinking into himself. Must've been really something.]/small>

...How bad?

[Peter's lips purse together, brows furrowing. He isn't sure how much Casey is listening to them, or if he realized the extent of what was happening. He wasn't a dumb kid, but Peter didn't want to scare him.]

Its... pretty bad. [He continues gently bouncing Casey in his grasp, just trying to find the right words.]

His arm is... just. [He meets Mikey's eyes, not able to finish the sentence. He feels pathetic for stumbling over it.]

[The hanging end of that sentence could mean... so many things. Mikey glances at Casey, then back to Peter. The box turtle smiles gently and holds up a finger to Casey. Letting him watch the orange mystic magic swirl out from the fingertip and dance around Casey's head for a second before setting over his head like headphones, muffling the noise and giving Casey some peace.]

He can't hear us. Not well anyway.

[Peter exhales a little at the distraction, just loosening up a little. Casey not being to accurately hear them is a relief. Enough of one, Peter feels like he can drop some of his guard.

Thank you.

[He needs a second, to pull himself back together. He needed to be strong here, for Leo, for Casey.] He lost his arm, Mikey. It's- just gone.

[Mikey is still smiling at Casey, who's always amazed by the mystic conjuringss the brothers can manifest.

But his eyes snap up to Peter hearing that.]

What? It- It can't be just gone.

It's gone at the shoulder. [Peter is trying to be sturdy, present. He has to break the news here. He's going to have to break it again to April and Donnie properly when the two are finished talking.

He could tell from their tone of voice the two were talking logistics from the riot.] I don't know what caused it. I just...

[Michael looks from Peter to the curtains pulled closed around where they're working on his brother. His stupid, responsible brother.

Before pulling Peter (and Casey) in for a hug, tucking Peter's head down against him.]

We'll figure something out. And get the whole situation under control.

[Peter releases a soft breath, just wrapping an arm around Mikey, offering him a squeeze in turn.]

Yeah, yeah, we will. It'll only be a little scary for a bit. [It's a lie, but something thats more reassuring than the truth.

The hug draws April's attention over to them.]

[Mikey's ninpo pulses out warmth, safety. A reassurance. Leo will recover he infuses his spirit with. Enough for Peter as well as giving April and Don a head's up that it isn't the worst but it still isn't good.

Casey is watching them again, not knowing what brought the hug on except the more obvious Uncle Leo got hurt. But he reaches his arm to hug at Peter's neck too.]

[Peter reaches out to Mikey with his own ninpo, trying to return the same feeling, even as he continues just pouring his own healing factor into Leo. The private connection swells with magic, with love, as much as Peter can put into it.

Explanations are exchanged, plans are made, and all they can really do is wait. The riot is being cleaned up and sorted by trusted people.

Peter stays with Leo, sticking to the infirmary. Once Leo is out of danger he's moved to a curtained off part of the room for recovery. Peter makes himself at home there. Casey insists on staying for a good while until Sunita appears, scooping him up to get him settled down for some sleep.

Peter just sits next to the bed, loose bits of paper being folded into shaky attempts at turtles since he feels too frazzled for finesse.]

[It's silent for so long. So many long, drawn out hours that don't care how anxious and afraid Peter is, or how drowned out the sound of Leo's heart monitor beeps.

The quiet doesn't break until Leo's head lulls to one side, a noise caught in his throat. Barely a sound at all. The staff had been shocked by what happened just as much as they realized it was the first time i all of the war that they'd ever had to keep Leonardo under sedation like this, or actually hook him up to the monitoring machines and oxygen mask.

It was just so much blood lost on that hallway floor.

He doesn't open his eyes, not yet. But his hand twitches against the bedsheet. Like it's trying to remember how to move.]

[Peter knows it's selfish, selfish to just stay here with his husband while Mikey, Donnie, Sunita and April tackle the aftermath of the riots. He only gets up once or twice to assist them to be sure things are going smoothly, before heading back to where Leo lay in the medical bed.

He still makes Leo his main choice.

The noise is enough to draw Peter away from his attempts at origami. His gaze lands on his husband. Peter's heart jolts against his ribs as he sets aside what he's working on to jut lay a hand gently against Leo's remaining one.]

Leo. I'm right here. [He doubts Leo will wake up too soon, but he wants to reassure him.]

[It's another hour. Two hours. Three hours before he moves again, his hand weakly squeezing at Peter's before the rest of him even catches up to the situation. His eyes slight open to half-lids, vision blurry for a minute or two trying to figure out where he is.

His voice is quiet and cracking at each noise.] Peter?

[He leaves their connection open, pouring his strength into his spouse. Only stopping once or twice when he has to get up to stretch. Mikey appears at least once or twice to press water into his hold and Peter obliges his brother in law.

Peter for his part remains next to his husband, just running his thumb across Leo's knuckles slowly. Its soothing to him. Just as soothing as listening to Leo's heart beat.

The squeeze paired with the quiet voice brings Peter back into the moment.

Relief blooms in his chest.]

Hey, you. [He scoots the chair a little closer, peering down at his husband, managing a smile. He's unaware of the faint bruising coloring his left eye, some faint unhealed bruises bloomed at the underside of his jaw.] You're back with me again?

[Everything's still pretty blurred vision as he tries to focus. Can see the light, the general colors and vague outline of things. But he hears Peter.]

...Dunno yet. [He's so tired. Sluggish from the pain and blood loss, and from whatever the medics gave him.] What... what's going on?
